Will I save money with SRP charging me all sorts of fees for generating my own power?

Yes, you will save money. But not as much as you use to save before SRP put in all these new fees. Their claim is they need to pay for their grid - but the truth is you are making power for them.

Instead of you making $60 a month on average you may save $35 a month on average for a 2k system. You may save more on a larger system. But you are not doing solar because you want to make money - you are going to solar because you want to be self-reliant and make a difference - be green and not give your money to the big corporation. You can certainly cut down on those expensive summer bills - but it will also require being a good steward of the electricity in your home. However, if you pay off the system in 5 years, like you would a car--- you will be saving any where between $35-$150 a month on average depending on how larger a system you install. And, you will be producing your own energy. There is a satisfaction in knowing you are producing your own energy and making extra for your neighbors. And when you are making your own energy you are more cautious about the energy you do use.
